Four of these chairs together forumlates a completely new piece of furniture, perfect for inserting an inflatable mattress into the interior of the arm spaces, great for small apartments. The form of the A&W completely follows its function, which is an indicator of fabulous design.
Designed to function as a root beer-lovers dream chaise lounge, the A&W has a cup holder built in to the arm rest and a custom graphic table top for convenient drink placement, as well as a drawer in the back of the chair that can hold up to 24 additional drinks so you can party all night long! An optional comfortable bolster pillow made of recycled braided black plastic bags is also available. The overall shape of the chaise is rectilinear with a strong horizontal emphasis which contributes to a more sleek aesthetic.

This was a final group project for my model making class. We designed a mini-model for the client (my professor), then gathered and glued all the cardboard together, and added a table and pillow for comfort and aesthetic. I loved the concept of putting the 4 together to fit a twin sized mattress. Dual purpose pieces are perfect for small spaces!
