The Passive Solar, Sustainable, Wheelchair Accessible Home

This home was designed specifically for the weather in Mesa, Arizona. Building materials, large overhangs, and lot orientation help the natural heating and cooling needed for this home. All spaces are wheelchair accessible. All building materials, finish materials, and furniture pieces are sustainable.

Solar Study for a Passive Solar Home

This semester I am designing a passive solar, barrier free, sustainable house. 

We were able to choose our own clients and own location. 

I have chosen to base my clients off people I know and located their home in Mesa, Arizona. 

Because Mesa gets so much sun, I wanted to include 

large overhangs on my home for a lot of shade protection.

 I also wanted to include an outdoor living space for the cooler months. 

On Google's SketchUp I did a solar study throughout different times of the day.
